About Me

Just One Thing

It’s a little disenchanting to have reached the half-century mark and still not know exactly what I’m going to be when I grow up. On the other hand, is it necessary to choose just one thing?

I have a brain that seems to collect trivia effortlessly and I dabble in a variety of pursuits, like playing mandolin and electric bass, collecting old typewriters, watching silly movies, traveling, reading all kinds of literature (I especially love mysteries), sewing, and cooking for friends.

It seems that most blogs focus on just one thing: cooking, crafting, writing. Maybe later. When I grow up.

  1. You are still one of my most favorite “posters” and now a blogger! I too struggle with what I want to be when I grow up and fear that I will die before I have ample opportunity to dabble in all I’m interested in. Currently in Klamath Falls…headed to Sisters OR Outdoor Quilt Festival, preceded by a week of Quiltmaking and design classes. You are welcome to join us for next year’s adventure–2nd week of July.

  2. Hi! I wish I’d read this before we met in person the other day. I know exactly what you mean about figuring out what you want to be when you grow up. I’m still working on that too. Life is so fascinating, and there is so much to learn and do, how can we choose? My husband always laughs because I have a tendency to pick up little bits of information about things too. Next time, we will chat more. : )
